Gail Yander ’74 Uses IRA Charitable Rollover to Support Albertus and “Pay It Forward”

Gail Yander ’74

Dr. Gail Yander ’74 used her Albertus Magnus College education to launch a successful career in science, which is why she has determined an IRA charitable rollover is a great way to support her alma mater.

After attending a large high school, Gail wanted a smaller college offering the individual attention Albertus is known for. Majoring in biology, she gained the critical thinking and other skills she needed to earn her master’s degree and Ph.D. before entering a career in academic research at institutions such as Case Western Reserve University and Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She later managed state-of-the-art analytical labs.

A first-generation college graduate, Gail has long supported Albertus—but now, after consulting her financial advisor and her attorney, she discovered an IRA charitable rollover is an advantageous gift for her and for the College.

“This was the most convenient gift vehicle for me,” she says.

Gail urges other alumni to “pay it forward” by making a planned gift.

“Did you feel like Albertus gave you a boost?” she asks. “If so, can you give a little something back? I have this philosophy that I try to do something good every day. It doesn’t have to be big.”
