Anne Demchak ’04 Makes Bequest to Ensure Her Continued Support
Anne Demchak says it was a lifelong ambition of hers to go to college even though she couldn’t attend after high school. “After raising a family and my youngest graduated from college, I decided it was my turn,” she says. “Albertus was always my choice, even way back when I graduated high school.”
To help others realize their educational ambitions and to ensure that of Albertus Magnus College continues beyond her lifetime, Anne has made a bequest to the College in her will. “It’s something that I want when I am no longer here,” she says.
As a continuing education student, Anne went to school at night after working her full-time job. “I was inspired by the people that I went to school with,” she says. “Some were raising a family, and some were working full-time, while trying to get their education. I gained a different perspective on my own life and the choices that I made in community involvement.” After graduating in 2004, Anne served on the Alumni Association Advisory Board for 16 years.
Anne hopes her gift will be used to further the education of Albertus students that attend the Accelerated Degree Program. She also hopes others will consider the many ways to leave a legacy of support for future students. “If you have the means to support the further education of another individual and to support others within your community,” she says, “this is the right decision to make.”
